Torai Sabji Recipe | Sponge Gourd Veg | Quick Veg Recipe | ASMR Cooking



 

Main Ingredients:-
Sponge Gourd ( Torai ) - 1 kg
Soaked Chana Daal - 1 tablespoon
Cumin Seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
Dry Red Chilli - 2 nos
Turmeric Powder - 1 teaspoon
Chopped Onion - 2 nos
Rock Salt - as per taste
Mustard Oil - 2 tablespoons

Serves - 3-4

Methods:-

1) Wash and peel the sponge gourd and cut them into small pieces.
2) Chop the onion into small pieces.
3) Heat oil in a pan on medium heat.
4) Add cumin seeds and dry red chilli and let them splutter.
5) Add the chopped onions and saute until they turn golden brown.
6) Now, add soaked chana daal and saute for 5 mins.
7) Add the chopped sponge gourd pieces.
8) Add turmeric powder and salt.
9) Mix well and cook for 2-3 mins.
10) Cover the pan and cook on low to medium heat for about 10-15 mins or until the sponge gourd becomes soft.
11) Stir occasionally to avoid sticking to the bottom.
12) Serve hot with chapati , paratha or rice.
