Beetroot Appe | Chukandar Appe



 

Main Ingredients:-
Semolina - 250 gm
Beetroot - 1 nos
Curd - 2 tablespoons
Green Chilli - 2 nos
Baking Powder - 1 teaspoon
Baking Soda - 1 teaspoon
Salt - as per taste

Serves - 3-4

Methods:-

1) For batter, peeled and grated medium size beetroot.
2) In a bowl, add all the ingredients and mix well with the help of water.
3) Cover the bowl for 10 mins.
4) Now, heat an appe pan ( also known as paniyaram pan ) on medium heat.
5) Grease each cavity with a clarified butter.
6) Pour a spoonful of the batter into each cavity of the appe pan.
7) Cover and cook on medium heat until the edges start to turn golden brown.
8) Flip the appe using a skewer or a small spoon and cook the other side until golden and crisp.
9) Once done, remove the appe from the pan.
10) Serve the beetroot appe hot with coconut cutney, tomato chutney or, any dip of your choice.
